On April 3, al.com reported that former Texas Tech football coach Tommy Tuberville filed paperwork to run for governor of Alabama.  Tuberville also said publicly, he was contemplating a run for governor.  But no more.

“It’s been a long process and I was doing it for the right purpose,” Tuverville said Tuesday on College Sports Nation on Sirius XM Radio.  “At the end of the day, I decided not to run.”

Between 2010 and 2012, Tuberville coached Texas Tech with an overall record of 20 wins and 17 losses.

Tuberville also told College Sports Nation, “I still want to coach. It’s what I’ve done all my life. This game has given me a lot.”
