Two people from Alpine were killed in a two vehicle accident Monday morning in Alpine, according to the DPS.

The accident occurred approximately 7 miles south of Grandfalls on State Highway 18 just before 9:30 a.m.

Authorities said the driver of Ford F-350 pickup disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1450 and State Highway 18. The F-350 collided with a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck. 

Two passengers in the Silverado 1500 were pronounced dead at the accident scene. The DPS identified these victims as Teresa Cardwell, 57, and  Mrytle Norma, 89, both of Alpine.

The driver of the Silverado 1500 and the driver of the F-350 both suffered non-incapacitating injuries and were treated and releases at the scene.

A passenger in the F-350 was transported to Medical Center Hopsital in Odessa with non-incapacitating injuries.
