Police searched Wednesday night for two men that robbed a Lubbock Family Dollar, 5302 Avenue Q, just after 9:30 pm. Two men wearing masks and armed with rifles forced shoppers and employees into the back of the store. The suspects fled the store before police could arrive. Police issued the following statement Thursday morning:
On Wednesday, May 20th, at approximately 9:34 p.m., patrol officers responded to a call about a robbery in progress at the Family Dollar located at 5302 Ave Q South Drive. When officers arrived they learned that two suspects wearing hoodies and ski masks and armed with shotguns had robbed the business and fled the scene.
The suspects stole a cash register containing an undetermined amount of cash.
No one was injured during the robbery.
