Two people were arrested early Sunday morning after barricading themselves inside a West Lubbock residence.

The incident occurred in the 5700 block of 38th Street around midnight.

Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock.com officers were attempting to serve warrants on a male subject at the residence.

The male subject and a female individual then barricaded themselves inside the residence and refused to let officers inside the door.

Additional officers were also dispatched to the scene.

Lubbock Police said one of the officers was eventually able to convince the two inside to leave the residence. The man and woman were then taken into custody. Lubbock Police then cleared the rest of the residence.

Authorities said the front door of the residence had been screwed shut. 

Domingo Ray Rodriguez III, 25, is charged with driving while license invalid, a parole violation and possession charge of a control substance. Rodriguez remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center as of Sunday evening.

Maegen Michele Gomez, 28, was charged with hindering apprehension, interfering with public duties and possession of marijuana. Lubbock County Detention Center records show Gomez had been released from jail just after 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
