Amarillo Police said Joseph Marricle, 40, of Wolfforth died at the scene of a crash early Friday morning.  Officers were called to Southwest 6th Avenue and South Adams Street for the collision of a car and a pickup truck.

“One of the vehicles ran the red light,” Amarillo Police said.  But a written statement did not say which vehicle.

Marricle was a passenger in the car.

The driver of the car, Arturo Hernandez, 29, of Amarillo, and the driver of the pickup truck, Richard Britten, 46, of Amarillo, were both taken to an Amarillo hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

APD said, “Due to signs of intoxication, both involved drivers were booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle.”
