The Bexar County Sheriff’s Department released information Friday after two young children were found chained and leashed outside a San Antonio home. The mother of the two children, Cheryl Reed, 30, was arrested for two counts of injury to a child.
Both children were under the age of 4, according to the sheriff’s department. Their injuries included broken bones, and hundreds of scars. The two children were hospitalized on April 29.
Six other children were also taken into the custody of Children’s Protective Services at that time. The other six did not appear to have been physically abused.
Officials also charged Deandre Dorch, 37, because they said he knew of the abuse and did not report it.
