SECAUCUS, N.J. – The Red Raider baseball program had two recruits from their 2015 signing class selected in the top 15 of tonight’s MLB Draft.
First baseman and Texas Tech commit, Josh Naylor of St. Joan of Arc High School (Canada) was taken 12th overall by the Miami Marlins. Three picks later another Texas Tech commit came off the board, as outfielder Trenton Clark of Richland High School in Richland, TX was picked 15th overall by the Milwaukee Brewers. Texas Tech was the only school in the draft to have two of their signees selected in the top 15.
Previous to this evening’s MLB Draft the Red Raiders 2015 recruiting class was ranked 10th overall, and the top class in the Big 12 according to Perfect Game. Assuming Naylor and Clark sign deals with their respective teams the Red Raiders recruiting class is poised to descend in the rankings. Find out what to expect by clicking the video above!
