Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle accident in West Lubbock early Sunday afternoon.
The accident was reported just before 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and Milwaukee Avenue.
Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock.com the accident involved a gray colored passenger car and blue colored SUV.
Police said the SUV was traveling east on 19th Street and attempted to turn north onto Milwaukee Avenue.
The SUV was them struck by the passenger car that was traveling west on 19th Street.
Lubbock Police said the driver of the car failed to stop at the traffic signal.
The driver of the car was taken to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver of SUV was not hurt.
The Jaws of Life were requested at the accident scene but were later canceled.
