One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in Gaines County, and one other received non-incapacitating injuries. The accident was four miles west of Seagraves Thursday morning.
Rafael Lopez, 51, of Lake Arthur, New Mexico was driving a Kia Optima north on County Road 103 while Israel Gandara, 41, of Denver City was driving a Peterbilt truck east on State Highway 83.
DPS said Lopez did not stop at a stop sign and ran into Gandara. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The weather was clear with some clouds and roads were dry, according to the DPS crash summary.
