As Spring Break arrives in Texas, TxDOT is launching the “Plan While You Can” campaign to reduce crashes and save lives among young drivers. The campaign utilizes the “Plan While You Can” interactive dodgeball game to show the effects of alcohol on a driver’s response time.

During Spring Break 2015, there were 459 crashes in Texas involving young drivers (17-34 years of age) under the influence of alcohol. Those crashes led to 43 serious injuries and 16 fatalities.

In Lubbock last year, there were 177 crashes involving young drivers (17-34 years of age) under the influence of alcohol. Those crashes resulted in 24 serious injuries and 7 fatalities.
