The new United Supermarkets in South Lubbock will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the store’s opening on Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. The new location is on the corner of FM 1585 and Indiana, and is the first United Supermarkets in Lubbock to offer expanded features.
In celebration of the grand opening, the store will host a five-person shopping spree featuring local celebrities including radio personality Landon King, TV news sports experts David Collier, Paul Tubbs and others. All items collected in the spree will be donated to the South Plains Food Bank ‘U Can Share’ food drive on behalf of the new store.
The next-generation United store will offer some features currently found in Market Street stores, including fresh sushi and expanded food service options. Other amenities include a large salad bar and restaurant-quality food, an expanded in-store dining room, a large produce section with extensive organic options, and a wide variety of beer and wine.
