The Lubbock Police Department reported Sunday they are investigating a suspicious death.
Officers were dispatched to the Carriage House Inn & Suites, located in the 900 block of Slaton Road, around 9:40 a.m. after receiving a call stating a male was lying on the ground in a parking lot.
Police arrived at the motel and found the deceased body of a male individual in the back parking lot.
Due to the nature of the death, homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
Officers were also canvassing the area and questioning motel guests.
Lubbock Police identified the deceased Monday afternoon as Gabriel Salazar, 32, of Lubbock. Police also said his next of kin had been notified.
