Update 2:
We can now report that all affected customers’ power should be fully restored after equipment in a substation providing power to Central Lubbock residents malfunctioned at 8:10 this morning causing service to be interrupted for a large number of customers.
Interruption of service is never ideal but we certainly never want to see it happen on Christmas Eve. On call LP&L crews worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore power this morning and will remain on call through the holiday in the event that we have any further issues.
If there are any customers who are still having an issue with service interruption, the best was to report it is to send a text or email to lightsout@lpandl.com with your name, address and brief nature of outage. You may also call 775-2509 although in the event of a large outage the phone lines can become busy.
Thank you to all affected customers this morning for your patience and understanding.

Original Story:
At approximately 8:10 this morning we experienced a lock out at a substation feeding the central portion of our service territory. Crews are on the scene working as quickly as possible to fix the issue and safely restore power to effected customers. We will post information as soon as it comes available.
We know that experiencing and interruption of service is very frustrating right now. Thank you for you patience as our crews work to fix the issue.
If you would still like to report your outage, the best way is to send a text or email to lightsout@lpandl.com. Given the high call volume, phone lines are very busy at 775-2509 so it’s best to use the lights out option.
