Officers with the Lubbock Police Department were dispatched to a reported shooting at the South Plains Mall late Sunday afternoon.
The incident was reported just before 6:00 p.m.
According to Kasie Whitley, a LPD public information officer, officers have not located a victim and the suspect(s) are believed to have left the mall.
Officers are working to secure the mall as the investigation is ongoing.
The mall remains on lockdown at this time.
Whitley said LPD does not believe this to be an active shooter situation.
At this time, there continue to be no reports of injuries following the shooting at the mall. Officers are thoroughly investigating the scene. Although authorities have not confirmed, witnesses to the incident told EverythingLubbock.com the incident began as a fight inside the Footaction store. It then spilled outside the store into the mall corridor where shots were fired.

Ashley Knox, South Plains Mall Marketing Manager, released the following statement to EverythingLubbock.com:
“We are committed to the safety and well being of our shoppers and retailers. The matter is currently under police investigation. Please reach out to the LPD PIO: Kasie Whitley.”
Lubbock Police said late Sunday evening that extra officers will be on patrol Monday inside and outside the mall.
