Seminole Police said in a written statement Monday morning that one of the four victims shot over the weekend in Seminole and Gaines County passed away.
The victim who passed away was publicly identified as Ernest Shelton, 51.
Monday evening officials confirmed Patricia Marquez also passed away from the shooting.
Another victim who was listed in critical condition was publicly identified as Miguel Diaz, 46. Seminole Police said a murder charge and attempted murder charge would be filed against Jacob R. Groening, 33. Groening was arrested after the shooting for a charge of aggravated assault.
Police were called to Perika’s Terrace located at 116 South Main in Seminole.
Two people were found in the parking lot who had been shot. A little while later, police were told of a shooting out of town in Gaines County where two more people were shot.
Both shooting victims in the county were identified as women but their names were not yet released.
The two shootings were connected. Police have not released a motive or specifics of what led up to the two shootings.
