Lubbock Police requested a search warrant on Sunday for an address in the 500 block of 54th Street.  The search warrant accused a 33-year-old man of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.

The search warrant said the woman went to a night club Friday when she saw Juan Salas, 33, approach her aggressively.  She was pushed and at that moment she lost consciousness.

When she woke up she was in Salas’ home.  The warrant said she was naked, her mouth was covered with a red shirt and yellow caution tape, and she was tied up with a combination of yellow caution tape and wire.

On Sunday while Salas was taking a shower, she managed to get loose, she told police.  She found her pants but not her shirt, so she used a pink curtain to cover her chest.  The search warrant said she went to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

A police officer found the red shirt in the alley behind Salas’ home.  The officer recovered a pink curtain from the neighbor.

An officer wrote in the warrant, “I further observed marks on [her] wrists and ankles that appeared to be consistent with ligature marks.”

The officer met with the suspect’s ex-wife at the home.  Because of a history of domestic violence and concern for the suspect’s child the officer went inside.  The officer said there was yellow caution tape in plain site.

Jail records show Salas was arrested Tuesday evening. He was booked on a charge of aggravated kidnapping, which included an intent to terrorize. That could be processed as a first degree felony.

The search warrant was made public on Tuesday at the Lubbock County Courthouse.
