LPD said Ethan Saiz, 17, died after a car-pedestrian accident Tuesday night in the 5500 block of Erskine Street.
First responders said the victim was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Saiz later died.
EMS said only one person was hurt in the crash.
LPD said all parties remained on the scene for questioning.
“The pedestrian was jogging with a friend along the edge of the eastbound lane that the vehicle was traveling in,” police said in an updated statement Wednesday morning. “A 2012 Chevy Malibu was traveling eastbound 5500 Erskine.”
The updated statement did not mention whether citations or charges were filed.
