The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will perform daytime road closures along the US 84 bridge, at FM 2528 (Frankford Avenue), project limits on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 25 – 26. The closures will give project contractor Webber Construction the space needed to accommodate equipment and safely place bridge deck for the US 84 overpass.

“To safely complete this work, crews will reduce both east- and westbound US 84 traffic to one-lane in each direction,” said Stevan Perez, P.E. Littlefield Area engineer overseeing the project. “No traffic will be allowed to travel under the bridge during the operation. Northbound Frankford Avenue will be detoured at Kent Street and southbound will use FM 2641 to connect with 84.”

The daytime lane closures are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and continue to 5 p.m., both days.

“Motorists who travel frequently in this area may want to seek alternate routes while this work is under way,” Perez added.

TXDOT officials ask drivers to pay attention to all signs, barricades and traffic control devices, and to reduce their speed as they approach work zones for their safety and the safety of the workers.

The work and lane closures will take place weather permitting.
