With the warmer months upon us, the City of Lubbock and Parks and Recreation want to remind citizens that driving or parking vehicles on the grass or landscaping located in a City park or on City property is prohibited by the City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances Section 16.01.004(6).

Driving or parking on park property results in damage to both turf and irrigation sprinkler systems and can result in costly repairs. Citizens should hand carry items from the street or parking lot to the interior of a park.  In addition, citizens should not drive or park on the grass by the playa lakes while fishing or on the grass surrounding soccer fields and softball, baseball and little league ball fields.  With this in mind, Parks and Recreation asks for your help in keeping our parks in great shape for all of our citizens.

City of Lubbock Police Officers have the ability to ticket anyone parking or driving in a City park.  To report someone driving or parking on park property, call the non-emergency phone number for LPD at 775-2865.
