The victim of a homicide in Ranger has been identified by people who knew him as Bobby Blair.
According to BigCountryHomePage.com, Blair, age not listed, “is originally from Post.”
Friends and family members said Blair was shot and killed at a residence on Young Street Wednesday night.
Donald Davis, 53, was arrested and charged with murder in connection to Blair’s death. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
The Eastland County Sheriff’s Office says Texas Rangers are handling the investigation. The sheriff’s office would not release further details on the homicide investigation.
A family member posted on Blair’s Facebook page.
“Thank you so much for the love and support,” it said. “We are devastated and heartbroken after losing Bobby last night.”
The page said a service will be in Post at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday June 18. It said Hudman Funeral Home will facilitate the arrangements but the exact location was not set yet.
Meanwhile, Davis’ wife, Diane Rodriguez, claimed the shooting was self-defense. She said there is a long history of Blair harassing her husband with multiple police reports. Rodriguez said she obtained a restraining order against him.
She also claimed that Blair was circling her house before the shooting occurred, yelling and saying, “you gonna shoot me?”.
Rodriguez said she was inside cooking when the shooting occurred and heard a single gunshot. She told BigCountryHomePage.com that Blair charged at her husband before the shot was fired.
The Texas Department of Public Safety would not confirm or deny these allegations.
