First United Bank brings a new style ATM to Lubbock and gave KLBK and EverythingLubbock.com an exclusive look at their first one.
Located on the corner of West Loop 289 and Quaker, near Stein Mart, is First United brought their first Interactive Teller Machine for Lubbock, “Teller Chat” for short. The bank has other “Teller Chat” ATMs around Texas, but this is first one in the Hub City.
First Capital Bank has similar video ATMs around town as well.
“It’s very simple to use. You just pull up and touch the screen and our teller on the other end will assist you through the process,” First United’s Chief Technology Director Officer Kevin Carson said.
Carson said you can make a deposit or withdraw to any dollar amount.
“You can do ninety-five percent of the transactions that you can do at a bank, you can cash a check down to the penny, you can deposit a check, you can deposit cash,” Carson said.
First United currently has three bank teller employees as video tellers who trained for about a month for this position.
“Any questions you may have on your accounts, if you’re not sure of what a credit or debit was we can look at that for you just as if you went inside,” First United Video Teller, Kayla Gibson said.
Gibson said she’s been able to get to know her customers through this interactive system.
“You really get to learn your customers. They get to know you. I have a few to where we talk the whole entire time like ok we have to hurry,” Gibson said.
This interactive teller ATM system is only offered during normal business hours at this time.
