Right before last month’s historic blizzard hit the South Plains, six-year-old Khane Williams’ puppy, “Kase,” went missing. The Williams family searched everywhere for the missing pup, but when the snow completely covered the roads, the dog was nowhere to be found.

“If nobody found him then then he’ll be freezing to death,” said Khane Williams.

Today, the best buddies are home together, and their sweet reunion has gone viral, capturing hearts nationwide. Watch the touching video here.

“It was a miracle that he’s alive. I mean that he’s safe and that he’s back with us,” said Khane’s mother, Paula Williams.

Turns out, Kase had just ventured right up the road where a family took the lost pup in.

“We fed it, and just treated it like it was one of our own,” said Carlos Jimenez of Lubbock, one of the family members who had looked over the pup.

Last week when Paula Williams was headed home, she stopped behind a school bus as it was unloading. When a group of little girls got out of the bus and to their house, out shot Kase running right after them.

With the help of the Jimenez family, Mrs. Williams was able to get Kase back home to Khane and caught the emotional reunion on her phone.

“For him to have his best friend back, I mean that meant the world to him,” Mrs. Williams said.

“I thought I was gonna lose him. But he came back,” said Khane, happy that his best friend was finally home.
