LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Economic Recovery Taskforce (LERT) scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. with guidelines for businesses opening May 8.

During the press conference, co-chair Steve Massengale said roughly 1600 applications were made to the Lubbock Safe program. He said 459 so far have been approved.
Personal service businesses can begin to apply to Lubbock Safe starting on Thursday, Massengale said as that new category is added to the program’s website.
