Lubbock Police Chief Greg Stevens scheduled a press conference for Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. to provide details of an officer-involved shooting which occurred in the early morning hours of Monday.

Police said Adam Rojas, 30, was shot and injured after a vehicle chase that started 1:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. During the chase, Rojas crashed a truck in the 2600 block of Date Avenue. Police said officers believed Rojas had a weapon and they fired at him.
Three officers were placed on leave which is standard procedure after a shooting. Police said Rojas was taken to a hospital with six gunshot wounds.
Police said Rojas will be charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer, evading arrest, failure to identify, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
As of Tuesday afternoon, he was not yet listed in the Lubbock County Detention Center.
