An Airman assigned to the 7th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base has died following a Taylor County motorcycle accident Saturday

According to the DPS, the accident occurred along Farm-to-Market Road 126, approximately 7 miles south of Merkel, at 11:09 a.m., in the Mulberry Canyon.
 
The Airman, who has been identified as Leanne Destini Locascio, 25, was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock where she later died.
 
The DPS report states that Locascio was traveling north on the highway and lost control of her motorcycle driving along a curve.
 
She lost control of the motorcycle after it struck a curve advisory sign. The motorcycle overturned and Locascio was ejected. 
 
Dyess Air Force Base released the following statement on Sunday:
 
“This is tragic loss that will resonate across the Dyess community. It is with a heavy heart that I extend my condolences to the loved ones of our teammate,” said Col. Michael Bob Starr, 7th Bomb Wing commander.
 
The accident is currently under investigation.
