The West Texas Symposium on Synthetic Compounds is a full-day event being coordinated by University Medical Center’s Nurses Educating on Illegal Drugs & Synthetics (UMC NEIDS) and Lubbock Christian University. We anticipate an audience of about 400 in the Lubbock Christian University Talkington Center for Nursing Education – W.R. Collier Auditorium. Our goal is to bring together engaged individuals to give presentations that are focused on the education and prevention of synthetic compounds.
This will be the first large educational offering by the UMC NEIDS outreach group in West Texas. A wide range of subjects about synthetic compounds will be presented to foster learning, inspiration and provoke conversations that matter.
Our mission is to provide education to the public, health care workers, and law enforcement on the health risks and hazards of the use of synthetic compounds and other harmful drugs and to support new or revised legislation of local and state laws to halt the sale, distribution, and the manufacturing of these synthetic compounds and illegal drugs.
University Medical Center-Lubbock is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
