Western Bank is set to expand its presence in the Lubbock community by announcing today [Friday] it has chosen a location downtown that will serve as its new corporate headquarters.

The bank recently purchased the building located at 1617 Broadway and will now undergo a complete renovation process.  The move demonstrates Western Bank’s commitment to help support efforts already underway to revitalize historic downtown Lubbock.

“Lubbock is our home and the revitalization of downtown is key to both our success and the success of the community we hold so dear,” said Dan Odom, President of Western Bank.  “Today marks an exciting milestone in the long history of our institution.  Lubbock is growing and as with all of the wonderful communities we proudly serve, Western Bank is committed to doing our part to support the continued prosperity of our friends and neighbors.”

Today’s announcement comes three and half years after new ownership acquired Western Bank. The renovations at 1617 Broadway are expected to take 12-18 months to complete, at which time the headquarters will be officially transferred from its current location at 5701 82nd Street. Western Bank will continue to operate the 82nd Street location as a branch office in order continue reliably serving customers in Southwest Lubbock.

An event will be held today at the site of the new headquarters at 1617 Broadway Avenue at 3:00 pm.  The event is open to any member of the public who wishes to attend.

“Our mission is to provide community based financial services that leave a positive and lasting impact on our customers and employees,” Odom said.  “We are loyal to that cause and will continually strive to support the growth and prosperity of the City of Lubbock.”
