The Westwinds Brass Band, under the direction of Phil Anthony, will present the Nineteenth annual Dean Killion Memorial Scholarship concert on Friday, December 16th, at 6:30 PM. The concert this year will be held at the Hemmle Recital Hall at Texas Tech University. Admission is free; however, donations will be accepted for the scholarship fund. Each year the Westwinds Brass Band provides a scholarship to the Texas Tech Music Department for a brass student majoring in music education. This will be the Nineteenth consecutive year the band has provided this scholarship.
This concert, entitled “The Sounds of Christmas” is a celebration of sacred and secular music of the Christmas season. Featured on the concert will be soloists on flugelhorn, alto horn,trumpet, and tuba. For more information call 806-799-3143.
