The rain showers bringing a lot of flowers to the Lubbock Lake Landmark. Officials there say you can see 50 native species of wildflowers without ever leaving the South Plains.
“As far as a climax of the acutal color, we’re in it right now. We expext to see these blooms, my best estimate would be another 30 to 45 days we could still see some lingering into the fall however the best opportunity is now over the next couple of weeks,” said Scott Trevey, the Historic Maintenance Supervisor.
There are more than 300 acres of land at the Lubbock Lake Landmark. The trails are open to walking or biking. It’s open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. And on Sundays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.
