A crack-up cast of comediennes reboots the original Ghostbusters. It’s been thirty years since the original, and the fresh cast puts a new twist on the classic. It’s getting mixed but mostly positive reviews. It’s rated PG-13 and runs two hours. You can get slimed again at Tinseltown, Alamo, Stars & Stripes, and Premiere where you can also see it in IMAX.

Lubbock Community Theatre presents “Cinderella,” by Rogers and Hammerstein, adapted for youth performers. It’s the timeless tale we all know and love, with the Fairy Godmother, Price Charming, and of course, Cinderella. This is the final weekend, with Friday and Saturday night performances at 7:30, and Sunday matinees at 2:00. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Another youth production for you Friday and Saturday mornings all this month: Lubbock Moonlight Musicals presents Into The Woods, Junior, at the amphitheater in Mackenzie Park. It’s the story of a couple who travels through fairy-tales to have a family. It runs about an hour and the show starts at 9, again Friday and Saturday Mornings, all this month. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids, through Select-A-Seat.

And Moonlight Musicals presents Pirates of Penzance for the next two weekends. The Gilbert and Sullivan classic will keep you laughing at the Amphitheater in Mackenzie Park. You can brings your lawn chairs and your coolers, and the gates open at 7:00 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. performance. Get you $20 adult or $7 children’s tickets — or splurge for premium seating — through Select-A-Seat.
