ARCHER COUNTY, TX — One man was hospitalized after a crop dusting plane crashed in an Archer County field.

Sheriff Staci Beesinger says that happened Sunday morning about six miles south of Archer City.

When the small-engine plane went down, Sheriff Beesinger says it took down several power lines with it, knocking out power in Archer
City. The downed power lines caused several wrecks on the highway.

Sheriff Beesinger says some Archer City residents driving to Graham called authorities to let them know about the electrical lines in the roadway.

When first responders arrived on scene, they say they found the pilot, identified as Tim Crowell of Wichita Falls, near the edge of the highway. They say he crawled to the side of the highway seeking help.

When Sheriff Beesinger arrived on scene, she says Crowell was standing but was visibly injured.

He was taken to the hospital by Air Evac.

The DPS is still investigating the cause of the crash.
