Wichita Falls Police have identified the body that was found along a jogging trail near the Wichita River over the weekend.

Police say the body of 57-year-old James Sherman Hopkins from Wichita Falls will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.

They say people using the trail saw the body along the bank of the river and called 911 just before noon on Saturday.

When police arrived on scene they found Hopkins’ body. Wichita Falls Police say while they were investigating the scene, the dive team came out to recover any potential evidence and the body.

The autopsy will hopefully reveal the cause of death, although Sgt. Harold McClure says there were no obvious signs of foul play.
