Dozens of Make-A-Wish kids spent an evening hanging out together and using their creativity all in an effort to help raise money for the organization that has done so much for them.
These wish kids and their families filled up their art pallets and created masterpieces so someone else can take it home and enjoy it.
“We as a wish family can help encourage other donors to help more wish families go on trips. So we’re very lucky and blessed that we can help out,” said Jolyn Frankfather whose daughter received a wish to go to Disney World. At just 3-years-old Frankfather’s daughter, Jordan, was diagnosed with a heart defect.
“I had a hole in my heart. Dr. Robertson had to fix my heart for me, and I got to take my trip to Disney World,” said Jordan Frankfather.
Jordan will never forget all the fun she had there. Not only visiting with Mickey and Minnie, but riding her favorite ride. “Disney World was fun. There was this carousel I would not get off of. I had a free pass, I would not get off it.”
On this night, Jordan and her family painted a key that has special meaning for their family. They’re hoping someone out there will cherish it just as much as they do.
“This is the best though, having these little kids paint. They’re painting items so if you go to the Make-A-Wish gala, hopefully we’ll make some more money to send more kids on a wish,” said Bart Reagor, long time supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
It costs on average about $9,000 dollars to grant just one wish.
