A little girl from Post, who wished to meet her best friend at the beach, is now back from that trip. Make-A-Wish sent Brynne Bigham to Florida a few months ago, where she was introduced to her best friend Elllie.
“It was a vacation for us because we could get up everyday and say, ‘Okay girls, what do you want to do today?’ and we got to do it,” Maggie Guthrie, Brynne’s mom, said.
Ellie and Brynne suffer from a rare disease called Tricohepatoenteric Syndrome. Their mothers, who met online, connected the two. Prior to the trip, the girls had only talked over Skype.
Brynne said she and Ellie took sand sculpture lessons.
“We got a bucket, then we just got wet sand, did (put) it in the bucket, then just turn it over and then just pat it and then we lift it up and it was a sand castle,” Brynne explained.
They also went shopping and collected sea shells. Brynne said she is already looking forward to the next time they’re together.
