Wish Wednesday: Middle School Students Raise Money for Make-A-Wish

Students at Laura Bush Middle School raised hundreds of dollars for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

“It makes me feel great inside. It makes me have a good self conscious and I feel great,” said student Collin Flishbaugh.

The leadership team got together recently and devised a plan to help wish kids by taping their principal to the wall.

“That was interesting it was really funny to see everyone taking tape and just rolling it across,” said Amadea Samudio, student.

Though it may have been an uncomfortable situation for the Principal, Edna Parr, she couldn’t be more proud of her students.

“These are students that are pretty bashful, pretty shy and we are trying to teach them how to step up and be leaders and talk to people and not be afraid to communicate. So I’m very proud of our group,” said Parr.

The students had a big celebration, while they taped Principal Parr to the wall knowing they’re helping make dreams come true.

“These kids seeing every little bit counts. And their little bit whether it was giving up a Sonic drink or Starbucks or something which goes towards being a part of a thousand dollars and making a wish come true,” said Sylas Politte, Teacher and Coach.

Their efforts paid off big as these students raised eleven hundred dollars for wish kids.

“I’m so proud of us because we worked as a team to get this done. It’s just really good to see our work pay off and it’s going to help somebody else who really deserves it,” said Samudio.
