Make-A-Wish is sending Jaxx, 6, to Disney World. Wish granters Marilyn Dixon and Brenda Richardson describe the boy as “full of life”.
“First time (we met him), he ran outside, hugged us, didn’t know us at all, and was just so excited,” Dixon said.
When it came time to tell Jaxx that Make-A-Wish was going to make his wish come true, Dixon said it wasn’t difficult for them to come up with a plan.
“He loves pizza! We kind of thought about doing something else and his parents said pizza’s his favorite!”
With the help of Pizza Hut in Slaton, Dixon and Richardson were able to pull off the perfect reveal party. So what was Jaxx’s reaction to the news?
“Thrilled,” Dixon said. “I mean he has no idea what he’s going to see in Disney World! The family is so appreciative and they would’ve never been able to do this on their own and they have to revolve their life around Jaxx a lot. He has to have treatments every two weeks and so they have to plan.”
For Dixon, the wish granting experience has been so fulfilling, she’s already looking forward to taking on another child.
“It’s been a great experience for me. I’m loving it,” she said.
