Earlier this month, an Abilene boy learned he was winning his fight against cancer. Carlos is only three-years-old but according to his mother, he has already had to undergo chemotherapy, radiation and surgery since doctors first diagnosed him with kidney cancer in July 2015.

“Just a big relief that we’re done for now, so we’ll do three month checkups from here on out,” Brittany Gonzalez explained. “Everybody wants their kid to be able to live a happy (and) joyful life, not having to worry about hospital visits and treatments, and so it means a lot to see him as a normal kiddo now.”

Make-A-Wish* learned of Carlos’ fight and decided to grant his one true wish. With a visit from his favorite superhero, the three-year-old found out he would soon be getting on a plane.

“He is going to be going to Disney World and LEGOLAND in Florida,” Gonzalez said.
