Lubbock Police were called to a traffic accident early Friday morning along the eastbound access road of Slaton Highway near MLK. Initially, LPD said one person had serious injuries. Later, the information was updated to indicate that the crash was fatal.
Lubbock Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Lakisha Hastings.
Police said they believe Hastings was going east on the Slaton Highway access road, toward MLK. They said she had been ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating to figure out what caused the accident. They said Hastings’ car was the only one involved.
