A Wichita Falls woman who crashed her vehicle into a liquor store early Sunday morning and then took off is facing four charges. The same woman was charged with endangering a child after her six-year-old son was found in a dryer with meth in his system in 2013.
Wichita Falls Police Department officials say just after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday two police officers witnessed 35-year-old Stephanie Perry crash her vehicle through the entrance of Local Boys Liquor on Southwest Parkway.
When the officers tried to approach Perry, she continued to flee in her vehicle on Southwest.
Perry’s car was later found parked in the 2900 block of Cunningham.
They say the vehicle was smoking and the front left tire appeared to have blown off.
Officers later found Perry trying to flee on foot near Rhea Road and arrested her.
She is being charged with DWI, evading arrest, resisting arrest and striking a building then running.
Back in November of 2013, Perry’s six-year-old son was reported missing but was found in a dryer inside his house in the 1600 block of Monroe after several searches of the home and medical reports indicated there was meth in his blood stream.
Investigators found the boy unresponsive behind a comforter inside the dryer.
During a hearing in March of 2015, a jury heard testimony and ruled Perry’s two boys should remain in state care but she did not lose parental rights, meaning she will may be allowed to see and visit them in the future.
