A woman who was found hanging by an electrical cord by Midland Police officers has died, according to a release from the City of Midland.

Natasha Morris reportedly died Tuesday and her husband, Benjamin Moore, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Now investigators are working with the district attorney and discussing pending charges, according to the release.

Police originally responded at about 12:11 a.m. March 26 to the 700 block of West Michigan Avenue after Moore reportedly called 911 and said Morris had attempted suicide, according to a release from the City of Midland.

Moore reportedly called 911 after poking his wife’s body with a pull-up bar, and did not attempt to save her life.

Investigators determined that injuries on Morris’ neck were consistent with strangulation and were not the result of a self-inflicted hanging, according to the release.
