The Lubbock Police Department was called to investigate a minor accident that later turned deadly.
Police were called just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1300 block of the West Loop 289 access road.
Police said as officers were working the minor accident, friends arrived to pick up the driver and passenger.
The passenger, Mackenzie McCulloch, 21, was standing at the back of the friend’s vehicle when another vehicle traveling southbound on the access road struck her.
Police said, “The female was pinned between the two vehicles causing severe injuries. Officers on scene ran to assist the woman, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene just after 1:00 a.m.”
Police said, “No charges have been filed at this time.”
