A Lubbock County grand jury indicted Larhonda McKee, 32, of Lubbock for aggravated assault. McKee was accused of crashing her car into another along the 6200 block of the northbound access road along Interstate 27.
The victim of the crash, according to a police report, was Lubbock County Constable Michael Pinson.
The crash was April 10 at about 2:30 a.m. Constable Pinson told police that McKee ran a red light. He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
A police report said there was an odor of alcohol and McKee admitted to drinking beer before the crash.
Officials said she had a blood alcohol level of 0.196 percent. The legal limit to drive in Texas is 0.08.
Constable Pinson was in uniform and in his county-issued patrol unit at the time of the crash.
