On the 14th of August 2016 at approximately 8:55 p.m., Big Spring Police Department officers were dispatched to 423 Westover in reference to a gunshot victim. Big Spring Fire Department and EMS also responded and found the victim was deceased. The victim has been identified as Sonya Michelle Drake White, female, 56 years of age. Justice of the Peace B. Green arrived on scene and pronounced Drake deceased. Drake is scheduled for autopsy this morning. The Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident as a Homicide and are following up on leads. We will not be providing any additional information to this incident as this investigation is ongoing.
