Women’s Protective Services is excited to announce its 13th Annual SPUR Auction Gala.
The high quality craftsmanship of the hand-made spurs to be auctioned represents a true art form of western tradition. A most exclusive aspect of the spur makers’ artwork is that the WPS logo is incorporated into each spur. Buyers and spur makers come from throughout the country to join in the festivities!
This year’s gala will be held at the MCM Elegante Hotel, located on 8th Street and Avenue Q, on Saturday, June 13th, 2015. This beautiful venue includes a cocktail hour reception featuring Lubbock musician Mike Pritchard, a substantial silent auction, and a fully-served chef-prepared dinner.
For more than a decade our supporters from throughout the state seek out this unique opportunity to support Women’s Protective Services.
Proceeds received from the auctioning of the spurs benefit the women and children we serve. Our agency provides shelter, safety, counseling, and support for those who suffer from domestic violence in the West Texas area.
Charlie Kaupke, well-respected auctioneer for many worthy causes throughout Texas and Oklahoma, has offered his services as the emcee and auctioneer. Kaupke’s energetic and enthusiastic talents enliven the gala on the auction block. The Women’s Protective Services 13th Annual Spur Auction Gala is guaranteed to bring you out of your seats whether you choose to bid or simply watch the show!
Cost of the gala is $50 per person. The cost is a tax-deductible donation benefiting the victims of domestic violence whom Women’s Protective Services serve. The Gala starts at 5:30 p.m. with a reception, cash bar, music by Mike Pritchard, and silent auction. Dinner and the live auction begin at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, but will need a reservation by calling 806-748-5292 (ext 214) or 806-441-1196.
