Military Times has again named Xcel Energy as one of the best places for military members to work in its newly published report “Best for Vets: Employers 2016.”

The recognition is based on Xcel Energy’s culture and policies toward military veterans.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by a group that represents every branch of military service,’’ said Ben Fowke, Xcel Energy chairman, president and CEO. “Our company values the leadership, teamwork and dedication our veterans bring to the job every day. We are pleased Xcel Energy’s commitment to match veterans’ military skills with great career opportunities when they return home is being recognized once again.”

Members of The Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times conducted and scored the seventh annual Best for Vets: Employers 2016 report. The survey involved a more than 90-question analysis of a company’s efforts to connect with veterans and provide an environment for success.

Best for Vets: Employers 2016 is an editorially independent news project that evaluates many factors that make a company a good fit for military veteran and spouses. For the full list, go to www.military times.com/best-for vets.

Xcel Energy is committed to 10 percent of all new hires coming from a military background. The company’s extensive outreach includes partnerships with active military bases, the White House Joining Forces Initiative and appearances on Capitol Hill.
