Abilene Police said Aimee Michelle Bennett, 23, of Abilene lost her life in a single-vehicle crash just after midnight on Thursday.
The Abilene Police Department said Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the 5600 block of South 1st Street.
The preliminary investigation indicated Bennett was traveling west down South 1st when her vehicle left the roadway, drove into the median, struck a guardrail, traveled into the grass, then fell into the drainage ditch.
Bennett was the only person in the vehicle, according to police who also said she was not wearing a seatbelt.
An autopsy will be performed as part of the investigation.
