The YWCA is asking the community to get involved in a community wide ask to help get the last of the $8.5 Million to get to goal to build the new J.T. & Margaret Talkington YWCA, a Recreation and Aquatics Center.
There are many ways to get involved with the new facility, residents will be able to say, “I helped build that!” when they drive up to the new center. We are thrilled to announce families now can commit to helping raise funds and receive a 4×8 brick in their name or even recognition on the Friends of the YWCA wall within the new facility.
We have set up a safe online tool to make it easy for individuals to set up a fundraising page from a Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer. First step is to commit to becoming a Fundraiser for the YWCA! Next step is to text YWCA to 71777. After you text YWCA to 71777, the individual will receive a registration link to set up their own Personal Fundraising Page. Just add a photo to your page and set your own personal goal.
The next step is to share your unique fundraising page through your network channels. We want everyone to get involved and have fun with raising dollars for the YWCA. When individuals raise $150 on their individual fundraising page they will receive a 4×8 Brick Paver at the new facility in their name. This brick will help pave the path to the new facility and be there for decades to come. When an individual raises or give at least $1,000 they will receive recognition on the Friends of the YWCA wall inside the new J.T. & Margaret Talkington YWCA Recreation and Aquatics Center. Only 1,000 bricks will be available for purchase through the fundraising program or by directly purchasing a brick paver.
We are asking the community to make a difference by donating to the YWCA of Lubbock to help us transform and rebuild a Lubbock landmark, Sun ‘n Fun, and ensure kids continue to have an exciting, educational, and safe place to play for generations to come. The new Sun ‘N Fun center will give the YWCA the opportunity to serve even more multi-generations to support health, wellness, and active engagement for every stage of life. Let’s do this together.
Or stop by the YWCA office at 3101 35th St. if you want to give offline donations (checks, cash, or matching funds) these can be manually entered to be designated to a specific fundraiser’s page. Other ways to get involve are listed at www.ywcalubbock.org
