The Dallas Cowboys have the fourth pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the highest since 1991 when they traded up for Russell Maryland.
The last time the Cowboys “earned” a pick in the top five was in 1989, and they chose future Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman with the first overall pick.
They would have had the top pick the following year, but it was used in the 1989 supplemental draft for Steve Walsh.
Dallas has made eight top five picks in their club’s history, three were the number one overall pick.
