The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up a busy final day of the 2016 NFL Draft making six selections at Valley Ranch.
 
With their first fourth-round pick, the Cowboys selected Charles Tapper out of Oklahoma. He was a 3-4 defensive end for the Sooners, but the Cowboys envision him as a 4-3. He will play as an outside defensive end that can create some pass rush for the Cowboys and help out the DE rotation.
 
With their second fourth-round pick, Dallas picked up Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott. The Cowboys see him as a potential backup QB and, perhaps, the franchise quarterback of the future. During Prescott’s junior year, he had Mississippi State ranked No. 1 in the nation during the season. 
 
With their final pick, the Cowboys took Baylor basketball star, Rico Gathers. At 6’8″, 275 pounds, Dallas will try to make him a tight end in hopes of him following in the footsteps of Jason Witten,
 
The Dallas Cowboys will take the field for their first preseason game on August 12, in Los Angeles against the Rams.
