Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup and Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson are friends, but come Saturday night at 7:15 CST in Arlington, Gallup hopes to end Carson’s season.

“He pretty much just took me up under his wing, you know,” Gallup said of Carson on Wednesday.  “If he went to the weight room, he was dragging me to the weight room. If he was going out to run routes, I always had to go. He’s pretty much a big brother to me.”

Gallup said, “He made sure I was doing everything right, made sure I was going to class. He’s still texting to this day making sure I’m doing what I’m supposed to do.”

Carson, a former Oklahoma State running back, rushed for 357 yards and four scores in the past three weeks. He finished the regular season with more than 1,100 yards including a 102-yard outing against the Cowboys in week #3.

But Dallas defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli said the key to corralling Carson is simple.

“Play our gaps, do a nice job playing our gaps, fundamentals in tackling,” Marinelli said. “Know what we’re doing. No mental errors.”

“This whole thing is about us. It’s not about him,” Marinelli said while making a point of not saying Carson’s name. “It’s about what we do and how we prepare.”
